Position Summary

Ensure operational and financial integrity by assisting in implementing and maintaining established Ethan Allen policies and procedures within the Wholesale and Retail networks.  Manage the functions necessary for the operation of Point of Sale systems; including but not limited to implementations, reporting, maintenance, training, and technical support.  Provide a high level of customer service to both Independent Retailers and the Retail Division.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Ethan Allen Independent Retailers on the Storis POS System by implementing, training, and providing operational guidance.  Provide ongoing technical support in conjunction with the Help Desk.
  • Become subject matter expert for POS systems to provide the Retail network with complete and detailed guidance and support. Analyze aggregate data and information received from Storis, Retail and Independent Retailers and provide specific recommendations based on best practices.
  • Serve as Project Manager for operations and information technology projects and initiatives, and other assigned projects as required.
  • Manage day to day operations for Guardsman warranty claim processing and parts ordering. Conduct daily and month end reviews and audits of processes and transactions to ensure all are accurately ordered, recorded, and reconciled.
  • Manage the national account for the procurement of office supplies to support all Divisions.
  • Provide support for the Ethan Allen Gift Card program through responding to field inquiries and processing transactions remotely.
  • Provide support to Property Operations Project Manager and field users for energy management system settings.
  • Update, standardize and coordinate Ethan Allen operational policies, communications, reporting, and procedures. Evaluate existing system policies and procedures, and recommend changes and/or enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage incoming communication from internal customers, including Corporate and Retail upper management and Executives.  Research and resolve inquiries in a timely manner and in accordance with company guidelines.  Monitor and assess recurring issues to identify system trends in an effort to proactively resolve and possibly prevent future occurrences.
  • Ensure implementation of and compliance with Ethan Allen inventory and accounting procedures necessary to protect company assets.  May be responsible for monitoring inventory levels at various locations within assigned area.
  • Maintain financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • High School Diploma or GED with minimum of ten (10) years experience. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Accounting or Finance or equivalency, with a minimum of three (3) years experience in operations, administration, finance, logistics, and management in a computerized retail environment.
  • Must be proficient with POS and inventory management systems and processes, Storis and JD Edwards preferred, and Microsoft Office applications.  
  • Must be able to provide moderate technical support for desktop applications, software installations, hardware, data repair, and networking.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills; ability to train and recognize deficiencies in systems and procedures necessary. 
  • Must be able to use good judgment independently in responding to unusual demands or situations. 
  • Must be well-organized, detail oriented, able to work independently, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced dynamic environment, under pressure, and be flexible and responsive to evolving and changing business objectives.
  • Must be able to work with all levels of employees in a professional manner.
  • Travel up to 15 percent domestically and internationally is required.
