The General Manager is responsible for developing and executing all areas for this full service, high volume luxury hotel, banquet facility and restaurant and bar.  Major areas of focus include the Hotel’s overall performance as it relates to room occupancy, food and beverage operations, and banquets and meetings. In all three major business areas, special emphasis on enhancing the sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue generation, thereby increasing profitably while enhancing the guest experience. Responsible to lead and manage the staff to ensure strong associate engagement and positive morale, which also contributes to guest satisfaction.  Critical is the ability to operate in an entrepreneurial fashion and be skilled at cultivating relationships with key community partners to raise brand awareness and increase profitably.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs and develops all aspects of the full-service Hotel, Banquet and Restaurant.
  • Maximizes room yield, food and beverage and events through innovative sales practices and yield management programs.
  • Develop and implement departmental goals and objectives to ensure continual growth, operational effectiveness and exceptional services standards. 
  • Ability to analyze operational effectiveness, including P&L, identifying areas of success, opportunity for improvement, while implementing change as needed. 
  • Address and remedy guest concerns and associate issues effectively and timely.  
  • Manage and develop the Hotel Executive team to ensure career progression and development.
  • Plays an active role in the recruitment and onboarding of all new hires to ensure associates understand hotel’s philosophy on the guest experience coupled with policies and practices that guide the daily workings of the hotel.
  • Identify and implement cost savings initiatives to ensure profitable financial outcomes.
  • Develop and implement sales tactics to maximize operating effectiveness. 
  • Promote Hotel offerings and participate in localized industry and trade events.
  • Utilizes social media to raise hotel brand awareness

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or similar field with a minimum of seven years progressive experience related to hospitality general management in a luxury environment
  • Proven expertise successfully driving the performance of luxury boutique hotels.
  • An in-depth knowledge of hotel systems, procedures and best practices in all areas of hotel management.
  • Expertise in owning and developing Hotel operations including Hotel Front Desk, Housekeeping, Sales and Marketing, Restaurant and Banquet.
  • Recruit, select, onboard and train new associates for long-term success.
  • Ability to conduct financial analysis and make sound decisions related to operational effectiveness.
