Position Summary:

Assists in the merchandising direction for Ethan Allen’s website, and is responsible for achieving targeted sales goals for the company's web merchandising business unit.   Develops analytics for web sales and consumer traffic, product cross-sells, and attributions.  Understands, analyzes, communicates and executes the proper web requirements for individual products in order to drive sales.  Analyzes and assists in merchandising all product lines to optimize user experience and improve conversion rate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to the sales and internet experience on Ethan Allen’s E-commerce site:
    • Continually monitor, analyze and report on web sales as a total and by category; weekly, quarterly and year end.  Communicate sales trends to merchandising, marketing, and other departments.
    • Make recommendations based on trend/search analysis for monthly banners and special promotional assets.  Assist with A/B testing on sorting, banners, and content assets to improve conversion rate and average order value. 
    • Collaborate with the Merchandising team to promote best sellers and move high inventory products inclusive of clearance.
  • Set-up new product introductions on Ethan Allen’s websites, including categorization of and importing items, defining attributes, loading pricing, product images and videos, utilizing Product Information Management software.
    • Create product sets, product collections, product attributes, and assist with product cross-sells, in order to positively impact conversion rate and improve average order.
    • Review each product and product listing as changes are made. Optimize product listings within all websites for best customer experience.
    • Manage all aspects of product life cycle, including any edits and discontinuations
    • Identify key shots from monthly photography for shoppable rooms. Partner with Copy, Creative and Advertising and implement on sites.
    • Assist with storefront sorting rules, including creating and scheduling A/B tests for continued optimization.
  • Evaluate site search reports, using search keywords, synonyms, redirects, etc to improve the search functionality on site
  • Manage implementation of promotions and sales across all sites. Continuously test and ensure complete accuracy on each site, proofing pricing, functionality, creative and site links.
  • Assist with customer group management as requested.
  • Conduct testing and provide suggestions for UX experience to assist with global website initiatives, and perform other tasks as needed.
  • Manage additional special digital projects from creation to implementation, when requested.Must be able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, under pressure, and be flexible and responsive to evolving and changing business objectives.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Merchandising, Marketing or similar field, with a minimum of three years merchandising and/or planning experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical reporting, and time management skills required.
  • Competence in all MS Office programs and website software, as well as AS/400 System operation and Content Management Tools. Demandware experience a plus.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, under pressure, and be flexible and responsive to evolving and changing business objectives.
