GENERAL OBJECTIVES 


Improve customer satisfaction by raising and enforcing consistent quality standards.  Reduce the need for service calls that are generated due to quality and issues within our control.


 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Assists in promoting atmosphere of teamwork within service center.
  • Inspecting all furniture prior to delivery to customer’s home to determine if product meets Ethan Allen standards.
  • Assist in determining disposition of product that does not meet Ethan Allen standards.  (e.g. repair or cancel delivery.)  Notify customer service coordinator if delivery must be canceled.
  • Assist in designating workload to specialists on a daily basis to ensure completion of loads and proper repair of items deemed below Ethan Allen standards.
  • Assist in inspecting all product going out on exchange; refer to customer service back up to determine what customer’s specific objections were.
  • Assist in orchestrating pre-scheduling inspections when necessary.  Inspect product, when approved notify scheduling the piece is ready to schedule.  If not scheduled within five days, notify service center manager.
  • Assist in the maintenance of monthly log of all product pulled from delivery as a result of quality, provide documentation and pictures for further discussions.
  • Assist in inspecting all items that come back from the customer’s home to determine if it will be returned to stock or go into clearance.
  • In conjunction with Service Center Manager, compile and report recurring quality issues to Corporate and Manufacturing.
  • Conduct daily business meetings to discuss relevant topics and keep top of mind awareness on current initiatives.
  • Train new prep personnel and service technicians.
  • In conjunction with Service Center Manager, review performance of all direct reports and complete performance appraisals in accordance with company policy.
  • Partner with Service Center Manager to address performance issues including corrective action where warranted.
  • Maintain MSDS book with new updates and conduct quarterly review to ensure compliance (i.e., PPE, EHS/EFEC).
  • Comply with all safety regulations established by the company.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS


Education


High School Graduate


Experience


One to three years in woodworking industry with furniture finishing experience, preferably with supervisory experience.


 Other Requirements


Excellent organizational skills with an ability to teach others job related skills.  Ability to repair and finish furniture as required.  Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.  Ability to take direction and follow through on projects.  Ability to operate a lift truck.  Ability to operate a computer and computer barcode system. Requires good physical condition and ability to lift heavy objects.  May require holiday and weekend hours.
