GENERAL OBJECTIVES

To assist the warehouse manager with the receiving, storage and delivery of our products into customer’s homes.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all aspects of warehouse operations under the direct supervision of the warehouse manager. Manage warehouse in warehouse manager’s absence.
  • Manage the receiving, storing and loading of furniture and accessories by warehouse workers.
  • Ensure resources are applying proper handling procedures during the unloading and storage of freight received.
  • Monitor all receiving practices to ensure that procedures are followed and that all freight can be accounted for.
  • Provide training and guidance to all staff on critical job functions and safety practices.
  • Provide for inspection of incoming and outgoing merchandise against order and delivery paperwork and specifications.
  • Report any merchandise that appears to have possible damage or does not meet quality guidelines.
  • Ensure that all warehouse employees comply with all company safety regulations.
  • Conduct cycle counts in conjunction with the warehouse manager as required in support of outlined guidelines and procedures.
  • Participate in semi-annual/annual physical inventories.
  • Working with the warehouse manager, assist in maintaining work schedules and resource allocation making necessary changes to ensure that priorities are met.
  • Work with the warehouse manager in conducting all performance appraisals, issue verbal and written warnings when appropriate, and recommend discharge of warehouse employees when necessary.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

 



 

Job Requirements



QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Associates degree or above preferred.

Experience:  Minimum of three (3) years in warehouse distribution environment.  Prior management experience preferred.

Other Requirements:  Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.  Ability to take direction and follow through on projects.  Must have a valid driver’s license, except in limited circumstances in which the associate can establish to the Company’s satisfaction that they have available, for use during all business hours, an alternate means of transportation not requiring the operation of a motor vehicle which will enable them to perform the duties of their position.    Must be in good physical condition, capable of manual labor including lifting.  Weekend, night and holiday work may be required.
