ETHAN ALLEN HOTEL

Ethan Allen Hotel, located in Danbury Connecticut is currently seeking a highly motivated individual. The Ethan Allen Hotel is a 200 room renovated hotel with extensive banquet facilities including a 15,000 sq ft. beautiful ballroom. 

Essential Functions:    

  • Coordinate with the chef for food preparation, presentation and proper service procedures.
  • Inspect equipment before and after use, making sure everything is clean and in proper working order.
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstation, kitchen area, and walk in cooler / freezer.
  • Follow and ensure all HACCP and health code regulations are followed
  • Prepare, cook, plate and serve all dishes according to the standards and specifications of the Executive Chef
  • Butcher meat and fish (weighing and storing properly)
  • Help train employees to keep up with company standards and new changes.
  • Check all food for proper consistency, temperature, and flavor.
  • Make sure kitchen is clean and kept neat according to health department standards, also supervise dishwashers and other cooks in their respective duties when Executive chef or Sous chef is unavailable.
  • Check food orders going out of the kitchen and food being prepared.
  • Be able to assist with Banquet meal prep
  • Communicate with chef on all problems, complaints, and discrepancies.
  • Assist team members as needed to promote a positive teamwork environment.
  • Flexibility to step into whatever role is needed at the time in order to deliver exceptional customer service. This may include taking on job responsibilities outside of this job description and may require assisting other departments in their regular functions.

Job Requirements

Hotel Specific Essential Functions

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for at least 8 hrs length of time
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend frequently during a 8 hr. shift
  • Ability to read, write, understand and speak English
  • Ability to perform repetitive range of motion
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and/or flexible hours
  • Ability to comply with all hotels policy and procedures.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience 

Technology and Equipment

 POS System, Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher, All Kitchen equipment
