GENERAL OBJECTIVES

Assist and support a team of 8-12 Interior Design Consultants in fast-paced retail setting with all the tasks necessary to achieve the goals of the Design Team, and to create a successful client experience.

*this is an entry-level interior design role designed to prepare associates for a future in design.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist Interior Design Consultants with residential design projects. Help select fabrics, draw floor plans, participate on in-home consultations when necessary.
Prioritize Design Team needs, and multitask effectively, to meet deadlines successfully.
Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and design skills to determine the best possible solution.
Communicate effectively with Design Team, Leadership and Clientele.
Work cooperatively with District Visual Merchandiser in maintaining a neat and orderly Design Center projection.
Participate in local marketing efforts, including in house Design Workshops and managing active Social Media platforms (Houzz, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
Provide backup coverage for Receptionist and other administrative positions, as needed.
Maintain and update fabric library, samples, and related design resources.
Assist new customers and return clients, as needed.
Utilize available technology and company design tools, including: 3D FloorPlanner, DreamDraper, Microsoft Office 365, etc.

Job Requirements

Education

Students currently enrolled in a Design program
Certificate in Interior Design or Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience

Customer Service and/or Retail Sales Experience preferred.
Previous internship or experience with a professional design firm or design-retail organization a bonus.

Other Requirements

Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work successfully with new customers, our clients, and the design team.
Positive attitude with stylish professional appearance and high energy with a desire to learn the business.
Demonstrated computer and social media skills.
Must be able to work weekends.
