Position Summary:

Responsible for leading overall strategy, implementation and workflow of Corporate digital asset management system, its digital assets (product images, room shots, advertising project files, stock photography, rights managed images, etc), including the capturing, storing, organizing and metadata association.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the digital asset management (“DAM”) system, developing and maintaining its libraries at Ethan Allen corporate headquarters.
  • Lead the ongoing development of metadata standards and best practices by ensuring continuity across the enterprise of terms, classifications, controlled vocabularies, and methodologies allowing for ease of search and find by internal clients. Collaborate with Creative Services, Merchandising, IT, Web Development, 3D Technologies, and photographers to ensure proper association and scripting.
  • Evaluate and recommend workflow analysis, coupled with organizing the ongoing maintenance of metadata, user roles, profiles, permissions, asset groups, etc.
  • Manage and document DAM procedures within and across business units, act as DAM advocate, and promote its use to internal clients.
  • Train new users on DAM operations encouraging best practices; manage changes in user community to maintain proper access rights within structure.
  • Lead the ongoing development of metadata standards and best practices by ensuring continuity across
  • Provide ongoing review and analysis of ingested digital assets. Adhere to corporate Document Retention policy to ensure conformance and image removal as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and intervene with functionality issues, software and/or implementations, work directly with IT for support and resolution.
  • Purchase and manage all stock photography images, controlling, and ingesting rights as needed.
  • Maintain all model release contracts and associate appropriate usage rights.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science or related field, and a minimum of four (4+) years’ experience working with metadata in a digital asset environment.
  • Proven track record of fluency with Brand Folder DAM preferred.
  • Experience with project management, data preparation and analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to collaborative and influence key stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner.
  • High degree of comfort in a data driven environment with hyper focus on detail.
  • Must flourish in a fast-paced environment, with rapidly changing objectives and deadlines, remaining unflappable.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and implement projects and to participate successfully in multiple, simultaneous projects.
  • Excellent organization skills; both initiative and follow-through.
  • Specialized knowledge in Digital Asset Management Systems is required.
  • Software/platform use includes Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, InDesign, Capture 1, plus Microsoft Office – Word, Excel.
