Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of invoices for Canada, including, but not limited to:  entering vendor invoices into the accounting system; answering vendor inquiries; assuring proper entry and documentation; performing administrative duties; and assisting in other projects as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Audit Canadian invoices to ensure processing meets company approval authorizations, operating procedures, and standard accounts payable guidelines
  • Ensure all transactions processed meet Sarbanes-Oxley requirements (internal audit)
  • Scan and maintain the vendor master file for new and existing vendors
  • Assure receipt of proper IRS documentation W9 for vendors
  • Communicate with the other departments and vendors regarding invoice/payment issues and requests
  • Process daily check for all systems
  • Accumulate and organize all A/P-related documents in files and/or binders as needed
  • Respond to calls, emails and any other A/P inquiries
  • Assist A/P Supervisor and other members of the accounting staff as needed
  • Responsible for contacting CT Business Systems for maintenance on printers used specifically for A/P dept.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • High School Diploma with a minimum of three (3) years Accounts Payable or Accounting experience
  • Must understand general A/P guidelines and terminology
  • Must be detail oriented, organized with the ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment
  • Good computer skills which must include MS Excel and MS Outlook 365 (familiarity with Storis/JD Edwards or other accounting systems preferred)
  • Basic mathematics
